Adding Cases to a Collection
Add cases to as many collections as you require to organize your studies. You can add cases to new or existing collections. There are several methods you can use: you can add a case to a collection as you are creating it, edit its associations later, or add cases when you create a collection. This section provides information on the first method.
When adding a case that has private access rights, note that you will only be able to add this case to a collection that has private access rights as well, in order to maintain the security settings of the case.
To add a case to a new collection:
- In the Teaching Case Editor, click the Associated Collections tab.

Click Create New Collection.
The Create New Collection dialog appears.

In the Description field, enter words or phrases to identify the collection contents.

Choose the access rights.
Select:
To make teaching collection:
Private
Accessible to only the author. The collection will not appear in other users’ search results.
Readable By All
Viewable by all users. Only the author of the teaching collection may edit or delete it.
Public (default)
Viewable and editable by all users. However, only the author can change access rights.

Click Create.
The collection is created and the case is added to it automatically.
To add a case to an existing collection:
- In the Teaching Case Editor, click the Associated Collections tab.

Click Add To Existing Collection.
The Add Case To Collections dialog appears.
- To add more collection search filters, click More Fields. To remove search filters, click Fewer Fields.

Choose an option from the filter list and enter the search criteria in the corresponding field. Use spaces to separate multiple words or phrases.
If you do not enter any criteria, all collections on the IntelePACS server will be displayed.

Choose an operator to determine how the search criteria should match the collection information.
Select:
To search for collections that:
Contains
Contain all of the specified text, in any order. Use quotation marks to specify exact phrases.
Equals
Contain all the text exactly as it appears, including spaces and without any additional characters.
Begins
Begin with the specified text. Studies with the text located elsewhere (such as in the middle) will not match.
Contains Any
Contain at least one of the specified words, in any location. Use quotation marks to specify exact phrases.
Contains None
Do not contain any of the specified words.

Click Search.
All collections that match the criteria you specified appear in the Teaching Collections list. It may take a few moments for the search results to appear, depending on the amount of data being transferred.

Click a collection to select it. To select multiple collections, do the following:
- Ctrl-click each required collection.
- To select a range, click the first collection and drag to the last one in the range.
- To select all collections, press Ctrl+A.
If the collection has other cases associated with it, they appear in the Teaching Cases list.

Click Add Case To Collections.
The case is added to the selected collections, and it appears in the Associated Collections list.
