Edited Reports in a Double Reading Workflow
As the first reader in the double reading workflow, you may have reports to approve and sign that have been reviewed and co-signed by a second reader. If your PACS administrator has configured certain scores to trigger approval of edits, and the second reader has selected a score that merits an approval, you will see the report displayed in the Double Reads worklist indicated by the Approval of edits action in the Required Action column. For information on configuring the scores that will require an approval by the first reader, see the Peer Review Administrator Guide.
The PACS administrator also configures the scores, also known as opinions, and which scores trigger a notification. You may get an email notification indicating that one of your double reading reports received a score that requires a review and approval. The email contains a link to the Peer Review portal, where the original report is displayed. To view the edited report and provide a final signature, launch InteleViewer.
When you launch InteleViewer, the preliminary report is displayed in the Patient Record tab, but you cannot co-sign it. Close the report, open it from the Double Reads worklist, and then co-sign it.
The scores (opinions and actions) used for double reading are the same as those used for peer review. Any change performed to the scores and the notifications they trigger impact both the Double Reading and Peer Review features. For more information on customizing the Peer Review template, see the IntelePACS Administrator Guide.
To review and approve the edited report in InteleViewer:
- From the Reporting Worklist Module, click the Double Reads tab.
-

The report is displayed in the Patient Record Tab.
The first and second reader signatures are displayed in the report.
- Review the changes made by the second reader.
-
To approve the changes, click Co-sign.
The report is final and is removed from your worklist.
If you disagree with this report, contact your PACS administrator and the reviewer to resolve the disagreement.
