Parking Dictations

The Reporting Worklist Module takes workflow interruptions into account. If you are interrupted while dictating a report, and need to open a different order, your dictation is automatically parked so that you can complete it later. You can park as many dictations as needed.

When you park a dictation, the order remains locked for your use and will be unavailable to others users.

When you save a draft with PowerScribe 360, IntelePACS does not automatically lock the draft. To lock drafts in IntelePACS with PowerScribe 360, contact your PACS Administrator.

The Reporting Worklist Module temporarily stores parked dictations. They will be discarded if you do not complete the dictations before either exiting InteleViewer or shutting down your workstation.

InteleViewer releases the lock when either:

  • You complete the dictation.
  • You exit InteleViewer.
  • The PACS administrator releases the lock manually.

To resume a parked dictation, you simply view the Patient Record tab and resume recording. When you have completed the dictation, you can send it for transcription.

If your lock is released for an order for which you have parked a dictation, other users will be able to open and dictate it. You therefore will not be able to resume a parked dictation for an order that is already marked as dictated by another user.
