Flagged Peer Review Workflow

In a flagged peer review workflow, the PACS administrator or Quality Control manager assigns a peer review quota for radiologists. Requests to perform a peer review are presented to radiologists within their regular reading and reporting workflow. Radiologists that have not yet met their peer review quota targets are requested to conduct a peer review when they open a current study with a prior that has been marked for review. They have the option to perform the peer review or to reject it.

For InteleViewer to flag a comparison of the same normalized procedure code or the same normalized modality, your PACS administrator must configure Study Classifier.

InteleViewer flags a recent relevant report for review when it meets all the following criteria:

  • Has the same normalized procedure code or the same normalized modality as the current order.
  • Matches all the conditions defined in a peer review quota rule that has not yet been met.
  • The dictating radiologist has not yet met peer review performance objectives.
  • The dictating radiologist is not currently in a grace period.
  • The dictating radiologist has not exceeded his or her maximum daily limit of peer review suggestions.
  • The report has not been reviewed.

Your PACS administrator or Quality Control manager defines the quota objectives for reviewing radiologists, as well as the quota rules. For more information, contact your PACS administrator.

InteleViewer marks relevant prior studies for peer review with a yellow flag icon Peer Review yellow icon in the peer review column in the Patient Record tab.
