Selecting a Report Template

Report templates are predefined sections, subsections, fields, and text that allow you to report on specific scenarios quickly. When you open a report for dictation, InteleViewer matches your order with the most appropriate template, according to matching rules specified in the Manage Template Matching window.

The matched template opens automatically in the Multi-Method Reporting window. You can select a different template if you choose.

If you used the M*Modal server to transcribe your dictation, you cannot change the report template after the draft report is processed. The Templates menu is disabled and voice commands, that change templates, have no effect.

To select a report template:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Select a template from the Templates menu. The Templates menu lists all available report templates. You can choose which report templates appear in the Templates menu by using the Manage Template Matching window. See Hiding Report Templates from the Templates Menu.
    • (MMR with M*Modal) Say the “template” voice command followed by the name of the template. For example, saying the voice command “template CT chest with contrast” switches to the CT chest with contrast template. The “template” voice command only works in self-editing mode.

When Multi-Method Reporting is in live mode, you cannot use voice commands to switch templates. See Understanding Live Mode and Self-Editing Mode.

The new template appears in the Report Editor. If you change the report template after editing the draft report, you are warned that all your modifications will be discarded. If you confirm, the selected template replaces all sections, subsections, fields, and text in the Report Editor.
