Adding Words to the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary

To enhance voice recognition, use Multi-Method Reporting's Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary (PVRD) to add your own words and spellings. The words you create in the PVRD are only available to you.

To add a word to the PVRD:

  1. From the Report Editor, click the PVRD icon Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary. Alternatively, you can select text from the report, right-click and then select Manage Word.

You must be in self-edit mode to enable the icon.

You can sort and filter the list of words alphabetically, by category, or by how they are spoken.

  2. Click Add to add a new word.
  3. Select a category from the Category list.

Selecting the most suitable category helps M*Modal determine the context of the word and results in better matching during voice recognition. If you are unsure of the context, choose Other.

  4. Type the exact spelling of the word in the Written As field.

As you type the written word, M*Model populates the Spoken As field.

  5. To change how the word is spoken, click Edit. See Specifying the Spoken Form in the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary.
  6. Click Add to save the new word.
