Specifying the Spoken Form in the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary
While adding or editing words and spellings to the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary, you may want to change how the word is spoken, rather than how it is spelled.
For example, the spoken form of "AAA" is "triple A". When you define how the word is spoken, you are defining how the word or phrase sounds rather than its correct spelling.
When you say the spoken form that you have specified for a word, the M*Modal recognizer writes the written form that you have specified for that word. For example, You can specify that IEEE be spoken as "I triple E". Another example would be to specify that CABG be spoken as "cabbage" instead of having to say "C-A-B-G".
To specify the spoken form of a word:
- Click Edit beside the word in the Spoken As field and then type in the way you want to speak the word.
-
Click Add if you are adding a new word, or Modify if you are editing a word.
The new or modified word is added to the PVRD.
