Dragging Thumbnail Images to Viewports
When you open multiple series, they initially appear in the viewports ordered by date and series number. Additionally, when a series contains multiple datasets, each dataset is displayed in separate viewports and separate thumbnails.
You can drag a series from the Thumbnail strip and drop it into a viewport. You can also drag a study from the Thumbnail strip and drop it into multiple viewports according to a predefined layout on a:
- monitor
- viewport
- row on one or all monitors
- column on one or all monitors
InteleViewer uses the following hotspot areas to lay out studies being dragged from the Thumbnail strip into multiple viewports.
For asymmetrical series layouts, InteleViewer uses only the following hotspot areas: this and previous monitor, this and next monitor, this monitor, and this viewport.
Here are several examples of using a dual-monitor setup to drag the same study from the Thumbnail strip and drop it into different hotspot areas in multiple viewports. As you drag the study, a numbered circle appears in the highlighted viewports to indicate the order in which the series will be dropped into the viewports according to the selected hotspot area.
To drag thumbnail images to viewports:
-
Do one of the following:
- To drag a series from the Thumbnail strip, click the thumbnail image and drag it into the new viewport.
- To drag a study from the Thumbnail strip, hover your mouse cursor along the top or left side of the study panel to display a hand cursor, and then click and drag the thumbnail images onto a hotspot area in the new viewports.
Dragging the series or study from the Thumbnail strip displays a preview of the thumbnail images.
If the Show Target Viewport Window option is enabled in your user preferences, then the Target Viewport window appears for easy dragging and dropping of thumbnail images from the Thumbnail strip into one or more viewports. For more information, see Setting Preferences.
In the case of a study, as you drag the study onto a hotspot in the viewing area or Target Viewport window, the viewports are highlighted with a numbered circle to indicate the order in which the series will be dropped into the viewports.
If you are dropping a study into a single viewport, the Super Series Stacking feature is activated.
If you are dropping a study to a locked viewport that displays another study, an error message appears. Press and hold the Ctrl key to override the viewport lock and drop the study. For more information, see Locking Viewports.
If a sequence protocol is applied to the study, once you drop the study into the viewports, you can no longer navigate through the reading steps and comparable priors. Instead, you can navigate through each series in the study. To navigate again through reading steps and comparable priors, click a reading step in the Protocol Preview pane.
