About the Starting Tool

You can configure which manipulation tool is active by default when a study is opened in InteleViewer for each modality. The tool you select as the starting tool will be automatically available for use via the left-mouse button.

You can choose any of the following manipulation tools as the starting tool:

  • Zoom
  • Window Level
  • Pan
  • Drag and Swap
  • Stack
  • 3D Cursor
  • Magnification Glass
  • Free Rotate

You can choose one starting tool for all modalities, or different starting tools for individual modalities. By default, the Zoom tool is starting tool for all modalities.

If you are working with a multiple-viewport layout with studies from different modalities, the default starting tool changes based on the modality in the selected viewport. For example, if you configure the Magnification Glass tool as the starting tool for mammography studies, and the Stack tool as the starting tool for MR studies, then your cursor will change to the Magnification Glass tool when you select a viewport with a mammography study, and to the Stack tool when you select a viewport with an MR study.
