Exporting Reports to PDF Files

You can export reports to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, which can then be printed or sent via email or fax. Key images, impressions, and the clinical history information can also be included in the file. Reports can be exported in several ways:

  • Automatically: Your PACS administrator will set up the rules to determine how to format the report, the people to send it to, and how the report should be distributed.
  • From the InteleBrowser View Report page. For detailed information, refer to the InteleBrowser User Guide.
  • From within the Report Viewer or from the InteleViewer window.
  • From either the Report panel (if there is a report for the study) or the Impressions panel (if there is no report for the study) of the Patient record tab.

You can also choose to include a report as an encapsulated PDF file when exporting DICOM data or burning DICOM data to a CD or DVD.

InteleViewer uses the default report distribution templates to format the report. Your PACS administrator uses the InteleBrowser Report Distribution module to create templates and to specify the default template for report distribution. For more information, contact your PACS administrator.

By default, when you include key images, all images will be the same size and will be laid out one after the other, vertically, beginning at the end of the report. You can only export key images from the study that was selected when you launch the Report Viewer. To export key images from another study, you should close the Report Viewer, select the study, and then open the Report Viewer again.

Additionally, the key image series must be opened in InteleViewer (though not necessarily loaded in the viewports) to export its images. If there are multiple key image series, the images from all the key image series in the study will be exported.

The exported PDF files can be opened with Adobe Reader, a free application for viewing and printing PDF files. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your system, go to www.adobe.com for more information.
