Setting Mammography and Tomosynthesis Preferences
You can customize the position of mammography images for either ventral or dorsal viewing using the MG modality preferences.
For tomosynthesis images, you can choose targeted stacking speed and slice position. You can set these preferences using the MG modality preferences.
For navigating through steps in mammography sequence protocols, you can choose how InteleViewer adjusts images from prior studies.
To set mammography viewing preferences:
- From the main menu, choose Utilities | User Preferences (Ctrl+U).
- Under Modality, click MG.
- To set the viewing preferences, click the Sequence Protocols tab then choose Ventral Viewing or Dorsal Viewing.
- Click Apply to save your changes, or click OK to save your changes and close the User Preferences dialog.
To set tomosynthesis preferences:

From the main menu, choose Utilities | User Preferences (Ctrl+U).
The User Preferences dialog appears.
- Under Modality, click MG.

To adjust the targeted stacking speed, under Tomosynthesis, drag the control for Default Stacking Speed from 1 frame per second (fps) to 35 fps. The default speed is 10 fps.
The actual stacking speed depends on your system's CPU power and physical memory availability.

To set the slice positioning do any of the following:
- For CC series, choose From Foot to Head or From Head to Foot. The default for CC slice positioning is From Foot to Head.
- For MLO series, choose From Lateral to Medial or From Medial to Lateral. The default for MLO slice positioning is From Lateral to Medial.
Your changes for slice positioning apply to every new study you open. They do not affect studies that are already open.

To set the slice positioning for MLO series, choose From Lateral to Medial or From Medial to Lateral.
The default for MLO slice positioning is From Lateral to Medial.
- Click Apply to save your changes, or click OK to save your changes and close the User Preferences dialog.
To set preferences for prior images in sequence protocols:

From the main menu, choose Utilities | User Preferences (Ctrl+U).
The User Preferences dialog appears.

Under Modality, click MG.
The modality preferences for mammography appears.

Under Prior Navigation, enable one of the following:
Enable this option:
To make these adjustments to viewports with prior images:
Reset Pan and Zoom so All Images Fit Their Viewports
Adjust both current and prior images to fit their viewports for maximum viewing and same size comparison.
Keep Pan and Zoom for the Current Study
Do not change the pan and zoom settings for the current study. For the prior images, apply the pan and zoom of the current study.
Some areas of prior images might not be visible in their viewports.
- Click Apply to save your changes, or click OK to save your changes and close the User Preferences dialog.
