Searching for Chat Users
You can use the Search field in the top right corner of the Messaging tab to locate a user by name, and send that user a message. The search results will display all users, even those not included in your default chat user groups.
To search for a chat user:
-
In the Search field beside the Start Chat button, type the first few letters of the chat user’s first name, middle name, or last name.
InteleViewer searches for all first, middle, or last names that begin with the specified text. Names that contain the specified text in any other location, such as in the middle of the name, will not be matched. For example, if the specified text is “an,” InteleViewer matches the first name “Andrew,” but does not match the first name “Alexander.”
The list displays up to ten names along with the user’s chat status and department within parentheses. If the chat user does not have a first name, middle name, or last name, then InteleViewer searches for the IntelePACS user name.
The chat user names and departments appearing in the list are based on IntelePACS user accounts that are assigned the Messaging privilege.
- In the list, click the name of the chat user or department to open the Chat window.
