Deleting a Word from the Shared Voice Recognition Dictionary

If you no longer need a word and its spelling, you can delete a word from the Shared Voice Recognition Dictionary.

To delete words from the voice recognition dictionary:

1. Choose Utilities | User Preferences (Ctrl+U).

   The User Preferences dialog appears.

2. From the Application menu, click Dictation System.

   The Dictation System preferences for Multi-Method Reporting appears.

3. Click Manage M*Modal Dictionary.

   The Shared Voice Recognition Dictionary window appears. You can sort and filter the list of words alphabetically or by category.

4. Select at least one word. To select multiple words, do the following:

   • Ctrl-click to select or deselect a word.
   • Shift-click to select a range of words.

5. Click Delete.

   A dialog asks you to confirm your choice.

6. To confirm deleting the selected words, click Yes.
