Modifying Words in the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary

After adding words and spellings to the PVRD, you may notice a misspelled word, or you may want to change the way a word is spoken. You can also change the word's category.

To modify a word in the PVRD:

1. From the Report Editor, click the PVRD icon .

   You must be in self-edit mode to enable the icon.

   You can sort and filter the list of words alphabetically, by category, or by how they are spoken.

2. Select the row containing the word you want to modify and then click Modify.

3. To change the category, select another category from the Category list.

   Selecting the most suitable category helps M*Modal determine the context of the word and results in better matching during voice recognition. If you are unsure of the context, choose Other.

4. To change the spelling of the word, type the exact spelling of the word in the Written As field.

   The Spoken As field is populated with the way the word is pronounced from the M*Modal dictionary.

5. To change how the word is spoken, click Edit. See Specifying the Spoken Form in the Personal Voice Recognition Dictionary.
6. Click Modify to save the new word.
