Capturing Layout Protocols
As you are viewing images in InteleViewer, you can control how they are laid out and displayed in the viewports. You can quickly capture the settings that are currently applied to the images in the viewport as a layout protocol, which you can then save or modify as necessary.
Capturing layout protocols can be a more interactive method of defining layout protocols, since you first are able to view and manipulate the images until you have determined the optimal settings.
To capture a layout protocol, all open series must be from the same or a known modality.
To capture a layout protocol:
- Open a study and manipulate the images as required, including defining the series and image layouts, image interpolation, window level settings, orientation, and so on.
-
Choose Utilities | Capture Layout.
The Layout Protocol Editor appears and the settings are automatically configured to correspond to the opened study.
For example, the study and series description keywords are derived from the study and series descriptions. A series description is created for each series that is open, and the appropriate series display options are set.
-
Modify the settings in the Layout Protocol Editor as required.
For example, edit the Study and Series Description keywords to remove keywords that do not always appear in this type of study.
The window level may be a non-standard setting. If this is the case, you may want to set the window level in the layout protocol to one of the window level presets (for example, Auto: Low Contrast).
-
Click OK.
The layout protocol is saved and appears in the Layout Protocols list.
