Assigning Keyboard Shortcuts

When you assign a keyboard shortcut to a command, the shortcut functions for all modalities in InteleViewer. For example, if you assign the X key to the Zoom command, using the X shortcut to zoom an image will work when viewing CT, X-ray, and MR images, and so on.

Each custom command can have only one shortcut, unless the commands are in a grouping that can be cycled through, such as measurement and annotation tools. In this case, each command is associated with the same shortcut.

InteleViewer, however, may provide more than one default shortcut for certain commands, such as the Zoom tool.

Furthermore, you can revert to the default shortcut after you have assigned a custom shortcut to a command, should you choose to do so.

If you select a shortcut that is already in use for another command, you can choose whether to reassign that shortcut to the command you are configuring, or to leave it assigned to the other command.

To assign keyboard shortcuts:

From the InteleViewer main menu, select Utilities | User Preferences | User Configuration.

The User Configuration window appears, opened, by default, to the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.
Expand the Tools menu to locate the command to which you would like to assign a shortcut.
In the Shortcut column, click the blank space beside the command. If a shortcut already exists, click the existing shortcut for the command.
In the text box, enter a shortcut for the command and press Enter.
If the shortcut is already taken by another command, do the following in the dialog that appears:
- Click Reassign [shortcut] to [command] and go to [‘‘conflict” command] to assign the specified shortcut to the current command. You are then taken to the command that previously was assigned the shortcut and can reassign a shortcut for that command.
- If you do not want to change either the current shortcut or the conflict shortcut, click Cancel.
- Press Enter.
Click Apply.
If you are finished with configurations on this window, click OK.
