Image Navigation Preferences

Configure the image navigation preferences to set how to navigate through series in linked orders, and group and sort series with still images and multi-frame images.

Use Order Linking For Image NavigationEnable this option to navigate through series in all linked orders sequentially. For example, order A (two series) is linked to order B (three series) and the selected viewport contains the first series in order A. If you navigate through series using the Page Down key, InteleViewer displays the second series in order A in the selected viewport, then the first series in order B, and so on.

Disable this option if you want to navigate through series for each linked order separately. In the above example, if you navigate through series using the Page Down key, InteleViewer disregards order linking and displays only the series in order A in the selected viewport. To navigate through series in order B, you must select the viewport that contains a series from order B.

This option is enabled by default.

This option does not apply when you navigate through reading steps and comparable priors in a sequence protocol.

Chronologically Order Series Containing Multi-Frame ImagesWhen you enable this option, InteleViewer groups still image datasets interspersed with multi-frame image datasets, and sorts them in chronological order. For example, a series with six still images (s1, s2, s4, s6, s7, and s8) and three multi-frame images (m3, m5, and m9), is grouped and sorted as follows:

Chronologically Sort Datasets

When you disable this option, InteleViewer groups all still images first in a dataset, and then groups and chronologically sorts the multi-frame image datasets. For example, a series with six still images (s1, s2, s4, s6, s7, and s8) and three multi-frame images (m3, m5, and m9), is grouped and sorted as follows:

Do Not Chronologically Sort Datasets

This option is disabled by default.

Order the grouped procedure studies

Determine the sort order in which grouped procedure studies are displayed. Select one of the following:

  • Study Date Sort in descending order by Study Date, followed by Study Instance UID (lexicographic comparison) if the date is the same, and then Study ID (lexicographic) if the UID is the same.
  • Requested Procedure ID Sort in ascending order by Requested Procedure ID; however, if the Requested Procedure IDs are the same or missing, then the sort order defaults to Study Date.
