About Saving Data

You can select images from studies and save them on the IntelePACS as key images and teaching cases. You can organize teaching cases into logical groupings by creating teaching collections. All changes to the images, such as window levelling and measurements, are saved. You can search for and view these series as you would any other.

Presentation states associate image manipulations with studies. You can save, apply, and clear presentation states with the images and series in a study.

If you need to use digital images outside of InteleViewer, you have a variety of options to suit your workflow:

  • Burn the images to a CD or DVD
  • Export the images to a local or network drive
  • Save the images as JPEG files
  • Print an image to either paper or film.

You can also use structured reports and presentation states outside of InteleViewer by burning them to a CD or DVD or exporting them to a local or network drive.

When exporting DICOM images or burning them to a CD or DVD, you can also anonymize the protected health information (PHI) contained in the images and thus safely present them within clinical trials and certifications. The PHI anonymization process removes the following identifiable data:

  • Patient identifiers (name, ID, birth date, etc.)
  • Facility identifiers
  • Referring physician identifiers

You can anonymize the same study or series as many times as you want. Each anonymization of the same source data will result in different anonymized data.

Since reports cannot be anonymized, when you export DICOM data or burn the data to a CD or DVD, you cannot include the report with the exported data.

Since the anonymization process cannot remove PHI data from scanned documents, InteleViewer will exclude any scanned documents from the anonymized study. This feature requires a version of IntelePACS that supports this feature. For information on if this feature is supported on your version of IntelePACS, contact your PACS administrator or Customer Success manager and reference issue number IP-106402.

To use the anonymization function, contact your PACS administrator to enable the necessary privileges in your user account.
