Inserting Custom Value Fields in Quick Text

Use the Quick Text Editor to create custom value fields that have a default value. Custom value fields make it more efficient to enter measurements, data, or other information that may change depending on the reading.

For example, quick text may contain the phrase “Cardiac activity is [140] beats per minute.” where “[140]” is a custom value field that can either be changed or left showing the default value (140).

Using MMR with M*Modal, you can use voice commands to move to and select custom value fields.

Using MMR with Dictation Module, you can press Ctrl+F to move forward from field to field, or Ctrl+Shift+F to move backward.

To insert custom value fields in quick text:

  1. In the Quick Text Editor, place the cursor where you want to insert the custom value field.
  2. Click the custom button or press F4.

The custom value field appears and you can add your text.
