Viewing Mammography Images
You can read and manipulate mammography and breast tomosynthesis images with InteleViewer. Key features include the following:
- layout protocols that display multiple steps
- support for CAD marks
- fit to viewport for maximum viewing
- same size comparison
- true size zoom
- opposite chest wall text overlays
- support for images of large breasts
- quadrant views
- image manipulations
- access to prior mammograms
Before viewing mammography studies, set the viewing preferences to customize the behavior and appearance of images. You can customize the position of the images for either ventral or dorsal viewing.
To use this feature, ask your PACS administrator to enable the Mammography Features privilege in your user account.
To view mammography images:
- Define the active mammography sequence protocols. See About Configuring Sequence Protocols.

Open a mammography study.
InteleViewer applies the most appropriate sequence protocol to the study.

To navigate through reading steps, do the following:
Press:
To move to:
Home
The first reading step.
End
The last reading step.
Right Arrow
The next reading step.
Left Arrow
The previous reading step.
You can also use the mouse to navigate through reading steps. Middle-click a viewport and choose Steps from the Navigate Through menu, and then rotate the mouse wheel to move to the next or previous reading step in the study.
For repeated views and smart steps, InteleViewer displays all repeated images before moving to the next reading step. As you press the arrow keys or move the mouse wheel, you display all repeated views for the given step.

To navigate through comparable priors, do the following:

You can change the default keyboard shortcuts for navigating through comparable priors in the Layout section of the Keyboard Shortcuts tab in the User Configuration user preferences window. For more information, see Assigning Keyboard Shortcuts. For Mammography and X-ray studies, regardless of the keyboard shortcuts, you can also use the up arrow and down arrow keys to navigate to the next or previous comparable prior.
You can also use the mouse to navigate through comparable priors. Middle-click in a viewport and choose Priors from the Navigate Through menu, and then rotate the mouse wheel to move to the next or previous comparable prior.
When you navigate through prior studies in a sequence protocol, InteleViewer does not display a prior study that does not match at least one view in the current reading step.

To navigate through series, do the following:

page down
The next series in the study.
page up
The previous series in the study.
You can also use the mouse to navigate through series. Middle-click a viewport and choose Series in All Viewports to update all viewports with the next page of series, or select Series in Current Viewport to navigate through series in the current viewport only. You can then use the mouse wheel to move to the next or previous series.
