Keeping Viewports Linked When Changing Reading Steps
You can keep multiple viewports linked while you change reading steps. As a result, you can navigate through multiple steps in a sequence protocol without having to re-select viewports each time you view a new step.
The viewports remain linked even if you zoom in and then zoom out of a viewport. If the layout between one step and the next is different, however, only one viewport remains selected when changing steps. In this case, only the current viewport remains selected.
To use this feature, you must have the Keep multi-viewport selection between reading steps option selected in your user preferences.
Multiple selected viewports behave like linked viewports when you manipulate images contained within them.
To keep viewports linked when changing reading steps:
-
Press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the viewports that you want to link.
A dim yellow border appears around the selected viewports. The last viewport you select becomes the current viewport and is identified by a bright yellow border.
- To deselect a viewport, press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the viewport.
-
To move to the next reading step, click the right-pointing arrow on your keyboard.
You are moved to the next reading step, and the previously selected viewports remain selected.
