Dictating Reports by using Third-Party Systems
You can use a non-integrated method to record your reports, such as recording them to tape or into a phone dictation system, or you can use any of the third-party tools that the Reporting Worklist Module is configured to use, such as PowerScribe 360. In all of these cases, except for Fluency for Imaging, PowerScribe 360 and bi-directional RadWhere, you use the Reporting Worklist Module to mark the orders as dictated once you have finished. The status of the order is then updated in IntelePACS to indicate that a report has been created for it.
If you are using unidirectional PowerScribe, Fluency for Imaging, or unidirectional RadWhere, marking the order as dictated in the Worklist will not mark it as dictated in Fluency for Imaging, PowerScribe or RadWhere. You must explicitly mark it as dictated in Fluency for Imaging, PowerScribe or RadWhere.
To dictate reports by using third-party systems:
-
Dictate a report by using your preferred system.
If you are using PowerScribe 360 or bi-directional RadWhere and close the Patient Record tab before completing your dictation, you must choose to either sign or discard the report before closing the tab. If you are using unidirectional PowerScribe or unidirectional RadWhere and close the Patient Record tab before completing your dictation, you must choose to either mark the report as dictated or discard the report before closing the tab.
-
When you have completed your dictation, click Mark As Dictated.
The order is dictated and it is removed from the worklist.
- If necessary, mark the order as dictated in the third-party system, such as Fluency for Imaging, PowerScribe or RadWhere.
- If you chose to open another order in step 3, click Open to Dictate. If there are other Patient Record tabs open after completing your dictation, or you switch between tabs without closing the first one, press Ctrl+D to manually synchronize the order with the third-party dictation software and then begin to dictate the report.
Assigning orders in Fluency for Images
If you are using Fluency for Imaging, you can assign an order to another radiologist for review. The status of an order assigned using Fluency for Imaging will appear as "dictated" in the InteleViewer Worklist to prevent the order from being reported on by unassigned radiologists.
The assigned radiologist will need to reopen the order using Fluency for Imaging.
